A big bang hit my ears being at home. After a while the horrific reality came to my consciousness. My country, my values, my democracy was hit and hurt.

My thoughts goes to all the people at Utøya. To be terrorised and lifethreatened over such a long time is unbearable. There are no words, there is no rationality.

I went downtown yesterday to pay my respect to all the victims, relatives, politicians, bureaucrats, our nation. I found military personnel guarding buildings of our institutions for democracy. I met warmth and humanity. I was comforted by lighting a candle in Domkirken, Oslo Cathedral. I saw people of all different nationalities and beliefs gathered around flowers and candles.

The winners of the Faces Photo Contest will be featured in PDN’s August issue and online at pdnonline.com in July. PDN has expanded their distribution of 25,000 to include over 5,000 creatives! Winning work will be seen by industry photo editors, art directors and art buyers!

My selfportrait in this competition is “Portrait in Landscape”. The thought behind my image is that you are not always satisfied with what you meet in a mirror.

Jeg er en av vinnerne i årets fotokonkurranse i kategorien “selvportrett”. Alle vinnerne av Faces Photo Contest blir publisert i augustnummeret av fotobladet PDN, samt på nettsiden pdnonline.com i juli. PDN har utvidet sin distribusjon og vinnerbidragene vil bli sett av både fotoredaktører, art directors og kunstkjøpere!

It also won the NSFF gold medal for Best humor. This was the first time Arctic Exhibition of Photographic Art was arranged, and it is the worlds most northerly salon. There were 796 photographers from 63 countries participating with about 6000 images in this international competition of photographic art. For further info visit this website.

For me it was particularly fun to win since I grew up in Bodø and the image was shot at Skrova just north of Bodø. It is amazing to be chosen among such a lange amount of images.

Dette var første gang Arctic Exhibition of Photographic Art ble arrangert, og er verdens nordligste fotokonkurranse med utstilling. Det er en internasjonal konkurranse i regi av Bodø Fotoklubb. Jeg synes det var veldig morsomt å vinne fordi jeg har vokst opp i Bodø og bildet er tatt på Skrova i Nordland, ikke langt nord for Bodø. Det er også stas å bli utvalgt blant så mange bilder.

Some want to change colour to white or grey.
